Producer, director, actor and writer Tyler Perry is undoubtedly one of the busiest people in Hollywood, with partnerships with Netflix (and many others), a plethora of projects already released, and many more in the pipeline. 2025 was exceptionally busy, and 2026 has been the same with two major releases so far, but what’s next? Here’s a look at the remaining 2026 slate and heading into 2027 and beyond.

Netflix and Tyler Perry Studios have entered into a multi-year, first-look partnership to cover film and digital projects, with Tyler Perry set to write, direct and produce feature films for the platform. The agreement spans eight pictures over four years and formalizes Perry’s ongoing creative relationship with Netflix. By 23 October 2023, the deal was confirmed as a feature-film-focused arrangement, and on 12 February 2024, it was expanded to include the development and production of television series, deepening the scope of the partnership until 31 October 2027.

beauty in black (season 3)

From the very beginning, beauty in black has been one of the best-performing Tyler Perry titles for Netflix, garnering millions of views since its debut, and it makes sense that Netflix would continue to do so.
With the second part of Season 2 officially ending on March 19, 2026, we can now especially look forward to the third and final season of the series. Filming of the final batch of episodes began in mid-December 2025 in Atlanta and Chicago. There’s no official word yet on whether Season 3 will return in late 2026 or early 2027, but the epic conclusion to Kimmy’s hostile takeover is highly anticipated.
Returning cast members include Taylor Polydore Williams, Crystal Stewart, Amber Rain Smith, Xavier Smalls, Rico Ross, Julianne Horton, Steven G. Norfleet, Richard Lawson, Terrell Carter, Charles Malik Whitfield and Debbie Morgan.

Announced for March 2026, Tyler Perry has created and is directing an all-new 16-episode, hour-long drama series based on a tight-knit group of firefighters. The series explores how they face the intense, high-stakes challenges of their profession while balancing complex personal conflicts, broken relationships, and the emotional toll of saving lives.

Tyler Perry’s ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’

The couples are back! In this new sequel to the hit franchise, the gang reunites to celebrate as Marcus and Angela’s daughter prepare to tie the knot. After living apart for some time, they soon learn that things change, but they also stay the same. Realizing that their children have grown up to mirror them, they are forced to reflect on the examples they have set and ask themselves the age-old question: Why did they marry again…?
Tyler Perry returns as writer, director and producer. Production took place in late 2025 in Atlanta and a section of Lake Como in Italy.

‘It’s so sweet
Netflix Release Date: 2026
Created by Tyler Perry and Devon Franklin, the drama is based on the true story of Lenore Lindsay. The story follows a Chicago bakery owner who is stunned by an incredible discovery that leads him to reclaim lost time, heal old wounds, and find purpose in the unexpected miracles of life.
Unlike most of the entries on this list, this film is directed by Tasha Smith (who also stars in it) and written by Randy Brown.
Its production began in November 2025 and ended a month later.

Tyler Perry’s The Gospel of Christmas

Expected to arrive during the holiday season, this musical drama features a powerhouse lineup of gospel legends. The plot focuses on a struggling pastor who inherits his family’s church in a broken New York neighborhood. Battling doubt, temptation, and a terrifying adversary, he must rediscover the power of his faith and prayer to save his church, his family, and his community at Christmas time.

Announced for early April 2025, this new film is once again written and directed by Perry, with the plot revolving around the path of a single mother who crosses paths with a former prisoner in search of salvation, leading to an unexpected connection.
