Welcome to your weekly look at what’s happening on Netflix! It’s a huge crossover week as we end April and start May 2026, and Netflix is bringing in some heavy hitters to celebrate the new month.
Below, we’ll consider our top three highlights for the week before running down a full preliminary list of everything coming to Netflix between April 27th and May 1st.

If you’re looking for your next family movie night fix, Netflix’s big new animated feature, Swapped, is here for you. Directed by Nathan Greno (who co-directed Disney’s Tangled), stars Michael B. in this gorgeous new adventure from Skydance Animation. A number of voice actors are involved, including Jordan, Juno Temple, Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer.
It tells the story of two natural enemies of the valley – a small woodland mammal and a majestic bird – who accidentally switch bodies after colliding with a magical plant and are forced to band together to survive.

man on Fire (Season 1) Netflix Original

You probably remember the iconic 2004 Tony Scott film starring Denzel Washington, but now AJ Quinnell’s acclaimed novel is getting the iconic TV treatment. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays John Creasy, a former Special Forces soldier battling severe PTSD who is pulled back into the field to protect a young girl. Packed with packed action and incredibly high stakes, this new thriller series is almost guaranteed to dominate the top 10 charts this weekend.
la brea (Seasons 1-4)

Network shows have been thriving on Netflix lately, and NBC’s sci-fi mystery La Brea is perfectly primed for your next major binge-watching obsession. The premise is wild: a giant sinkhole inexplicably opens up in the middle of Los Angeles, sucking hundreds of people and buildings into a primitive, dangerous, prehistoric land. With all four seasons ending on Friday, May 1, it’s the perfect time to fall down the rabbit hole and uncover the mysteries of the sinkhole.
