Netflix has released the first look and official trailer of one of its most anticipated rom-coms of 2026. office romance. Bringing together global superstar Jennifer Lopez and Ted Lasso standout Brett Goldstein, this R-rated workplace comedy is officially set to hit your screens globally on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Here’s everything you need to know about the new raunchy comedy, including details on the brand new trailer following last week’s first look and our reporting on its unexpected R-rating for “sexual content, substantial language and graphic nudity,” in addition to its runtime of 1 hour and 52 minutes.
As a reminder, the plot of office romance The traditional workplace power dynamic promises to be a refreshing and charming take on the classic rom-com genre.
The new official logline reads:
“Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein lead this charming and sensual romantic comedy. Lopez plays a powerful CEO and Goldstein is her airline’s newest lawyer. Their secret office romance begins when these two workaholics stop playing by the rules and start following their hearts.”
Lopez plays Jackie Cruz, Air Cruise’s president, CEO, and sometime pilot. She runs a tight ship, strictly enforcing a strict anti-fraternization policy among her employees. Enter the airline’s newest lawyer, Daniel Blanchflower (Goldstein). As the trailer hilariously highlights, Daniel immediately becomes infatuated with his dynamic boss. The two essentially begin a secret relationship that threatens to destroy everything Jackie has built.
Who is behind the office romance?
The screenplay was written by Ted Lasso co-creators Brett Goldstein and Joe Kelly, who reportedly wrote the film with Jennifer Lopez in mind as the ultimate rom-com star. Sitting in the director’s chair is Ol Parker, no stranger to the genre having directed hits like Ticket to Paradise and Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!
Along with Lopez and Goldstein, the film features a huge, star-studded ensemble cast, including:
- Edward James Olmos (reuniting with Lopez to play her father, Captain Jack Cruise, nearly three decades after starring together in Selena!).
