Summer is officially here, and Netflix is turning up the heat! If you’ve been following our coverage over the past few months, you’ll know that June 2026 is shaping up to be a huge month for the streamer. With the much awaited return of Avatar The Last Airbender There’s a lot to uncover, in a brand new daily sports show that capitalizes on the excitement of the World Cup.
We’ll have a full preview of everything coming in June soon, but first, let’s do a quick review of the currently announced Netflix Originals coming in June 2026 that we think should be on your radar. There is no mention of choice in this marked woman, another self S3, or some other titles already lined up for the month.
Witness
Coming to Netflix: 4th June
Type: crime drama series

If you’re a fan of British true-crime dramatics, this should be on your radar. Created and written by Rob Williams (victim, Hunt) and produced by STV Studios, Witness Deals with the tragic murder of Rachel Nickell in 1992 on Wimbledon Common. Rather than focus solely on the crime, the series takes a highly emotional approach, focusing on Rachel’s partner Andre and their young son Alex, the only eyewitness to the horrific incident. We’ve been keeping an eye on this production for some time, and it promises to be a harrowing but ultimately uplifting look at a father and son going through unimaginable grief under the glowing spotlight of the British tabloids.

Coming to Netflix: 4th June
Type: true crime documentary
Serving as an ideal non-fiction companion piece WitnessNetflix is releasing this feature-length documentary on the same day. Produced by Blast Films and directed by BAFTA-nominated director Lucy Bowden, the doc will shed light on the infamous, years-long police investigation that followed Nickell’s murder. Expect exclusive archival footage and interviews with forensic experts detailing how a seriously flawed investigation led to the wrong man being prosecuted, before the case was widely exposed years later.

Just before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off, this Spanish-language comedy star is at the perfect time internal management andDiego Luna with Carla Souza. Directed by Gabriel Ripstein, the film is a satirical, high-level caper about a cunning Mexican bureaucrat who forces his way through the highest levels of FIFA to secure the right to host the 1986 World Cup in the United States. If you like political satire mixed with sports history, this looks to be a great addition to Netflix’s international film slate.

Jennifer Lopez’s multi-year deal with Netflix through her Nuyorican Productions banner has already given us big hits Mother And atlasBut now she’s returning to her rom-com roots. she is working together ted lasso Breakout Brett Goldstein (who also co-wrote the script) for a raunchy R-rated, laugh-packed comedy about two workaholics trying to solve a secret workplace affair. Directed by Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! Here we go again), the film features a stellar supporting cast including Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, and Bradley Whitford.

The beloved trio of Maddie, Dana Sue, and Helen (played by Joanna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliot, and Heather Headley) is officially back for its fifth season. Returning showrunner Sheryl J. Under Anderson’s guidance, our favorite lifelong best friends will juggle relationships, family, and careers in the charming small town of Serenity, South Carolina. However, it looks like they might be venturing beyond the city limits this season — recent first-look photos actually teased a fun New York adventure for the ladies! If you’re craving more Southern charm and heartwarming drama, this cult favorite is just what you need to start your summer.

We’ve been keeping a very close eye on it since Netflix announced it had acquired the rights earlier this year. Brought to life by the immensely talented Arturo and Roy Ambriz (the brothers behind Mexico’s Cinema Fantasma studio), this is a visually stunning stop-motion fantasy. The story centers on a 19th-century Mexican writer named Frankelda who is thrust into her own subconscious, where her dark creations come to life. Teamed up with a tormented prince named Harneval, she must fight against sinister forces attempting to silence her voice. The animation style looks absolutely breathtaking, making it a must-see for fans Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio Or Coraline.

Type: romantic comedy movie
Sony Pictures and Escape Artists are producing this charming new rom-com starring Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson. Deutch plays Jill, a woman coping with the death of her sister by leaving her rambling, confessional voicemails. Hunt? The number is reassigned to a real estate agent in Austin who begins listening to them. Directed by Leah McKendrick, this feels like a modern, slightly more anarchic twist you’ve got Mail. The supporting cast is also stacked, including Nick Offerman, Lucas Gage and Harry Shum Jr.
Avatar The Last Airbender (season 2)

After a major two-season renewal, the live-action adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon animated series returns to our screens. With Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani stepping up as the new showrunners, Season 2 will see Aang, Katara, and Sokka head to the Earth Kingdom to find Aang an Earthbending teacher (hello, TOP!) and convince the Earth King to help him fight Fire Lord Ozai. Expect big battles, deep lore, and lots of cabbage.

If you’re looking for an odd-couple buddy comedy, look no further. John Cena and Eric Andre are teaming up Younger brotherDirected by Matt Spicer (ingrid goes west). The premise is simple but ripe for chaos: a highly successful real estate agent’s perfectly arranged life is thrown completely into disarray when his eccentric “little brother” unexpectedly shows up. With the mix of comedy veterans like Ego Nwodim and Sherry Kola, this has the potential to become the sleeper comedy hit of the summer.

Netflix has become the undisputed king of sports documentaries, and it looks incredibly inspiring. Directed by Rebecca Gitlitz, the film focuses on the famous rivalry between tennis icons Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. But the issue goes far beyond the court. Years after their professional rivalry ended, both women were diagnosed with cancer at exactly the same time. The documentary uses intimate interviews and behind-the-scenes access to show how these two fierce competitors depended on each other during the toughest battles of their lives.
Coming to Netflix: Daily during the 2026 FIFA World Cup (June and July)

Netflix continues to contribute live and contemporary programming! Created by Goalhanger (podcasting giant). the rest is history), this daily TV show will run throughout the 2026 World Cup. Hosted by football legends Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Micah Richards, the show will be filmed daily in New York. Expect game analysis, special guests and live check-ins from the Fan Zone and England camp. This is a huge change for Netflix as they test the waters with daily, tournament-adjacent content.
