Filming for the third season of 3 Body Problems is scheduled to begin in Hungary in June 2026.

with 3 physical problems Set to return with its second season in 2026, we now have news that, after a short break, the third season will begin shooting in Hungary in June 2026 and continue for the rest of the year, with hopes that it will be released sometime in 2027.
3 physical problems Netflix has a new big-budget science fiction series game of Thrones Producers David Benioff and DB Weiss with Alexander Wu. The series is an adaptation of the beloved and thought-provoking novel by Chinese author Liu Cixin. With a massive budget of $20 million per episode, it is one of the most expensive shows ever produced by Netflix.
The series debuted on Netflix on March 21, 2024, and despite the high-profile cast, production value, and popularity of the novel, it underperformed, reaching Netflix’s global top ten list with less than 50 million views during its 7-week run. Despite the underwhelming performance, the series was praised by audiences and critics alike and was eventually renewed for two more seasons, with the number of episodes reduced for the second season.

Filming of the second season has already been completed, with production taking place in Hungary from August 2025 to January 2026. The second season is scheduled to be released sometime in 2026.
We previously reported in April 2025 that the second and third seasons would be filming back-to-back, but at the time, Netflix did not respond to our request for comment on the Hungarian tax filing that revealed the production plans. This is now stated in points Production Weekly’s 1501 that filming is scheduled to take place in Hungary in between June 2026 And December 2026.
Official dates have not been announced yet, so filming dates are subject to change and production on the third season could be pushed back to early 2027, as we previously reported.
