Huh huh, she said streaming. Paramount’s iconic animated slacker duo, Beavis and ButtheadComing to Netflix for the first time this summer. We’ve learned that the series is currently scheduled to come to Netflix US on June 16, 2026, with Netflix labeling what’s coming as a “new edition.”
At the time of publishing, it’s unclear which seasons are coming to Netflix right now. As is usually the case with these Paramount licenses, this appears to be a highly targeted regional pickup. Right now, we believe Beavis and Butt-Head will have a strictly Netflix US release. At the moment we don’t see any indication that the series will be held on June 16 in international territories like the UK, Canada or Australia.
Given recent licensing trends on Netflix, our understanding is that new Paramount+ seasons will be coming to Netflix. Law & Order is an obvious parallel here, given that we added several seasons to Netflix last month, even though all of Netflix’s metadata reflected the OG 1994 series, it was just the newly rebooted seasons. Additional new seasons were added a month later.

What is Beavis and Butthead?
For the uninitiated, Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head is the quintessential ’90s animated sitcom that helped put MTV’s original programming on the map. The series follows two dangerously dim-witted, heavy-metal-obsessed teenagers whose daily misadventures in Highland, Texas, are punctuated with his trademark, sarcastic comments on music videos. In addition to serving as a hilarious snapshot of Gen X slacker culture, the show’s legacy within the entertainment industry is monumental. It proved that adult-skewing cartoons could be massive commercial juggernauts, paved the way for boundary-pushing network series like South Park and Family Guy, spawned the iconic spin-off Daria, and launched an enduring franchise of feature films and revivals that proved both of these are truly timeless.
Creator Mike Judge brought the duo back in 2022 for two excellent new seasons, which originally streamed exclusively on Paramount+ before moving to Comedy Central for Season 3 in late 2025. The reboot was reportedly Renewed for a fourth season in late 2025.
Why is Beavis and Butt-Head coming to Netflix?
As mentioned, this is the first time Beavis and Butthead As of our records dating back to 2010, the series has never come to Netflix, and surprisingly, when we covered the series streaming availability of seasons 1-8 in 2020, we suggested it was unlikely the series would ever come to Netflix. Of course, this was because the series’ owner, Paramount, was steadily building its own streaming service and, for the most part, keeping its biggest titles to itself. The streaming wars have evolved since then, and we’ve seen several big Paramount+ titles (and titles from its other subsidiaries) get licensed to Netflix, often for a few years at a time.
In early 2026, Netflix announced a new deal with Paramount that will bring some of its biggest titles streamers, including watson, seal TeamAnd mayor of kingstown. To date, most of them have yet to come into service with the first confirmed major title, Lawman: Bass ReevesTouching on June 1st.
The only reminder of Beavis and Butt-Head’s previous absence from Netflix is the 1996 film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do Americawhich is streamed on Netflix US A several times over the yearsIncluding its most recent term between 2019 and 2020.
