Netflix continues to entertain audiences with its sports programming. While the streamer continues to push into live sports, it has quietly begun rolling out a new, daily Major League Baseball highlights hub for select users.
Although you won’t find any press release about it, the new title page – simply billed as MLB daily highlights and top plays– Has appeared on the stage. The official logline for The Hub reads:
“Big games. Top games. Every day. Your home for all of Major League Baseball’s must-see moments and greatest hits from around the diamond.”
Our understanding is that the Hub is currently part of a limited trial being shown to a small number of US households. The streamer is using this soft launch to measure how members engage with smaller, daily sports content before potentially introducing it to a larger audience.
What’s inside MLB Highlights Hub?
The title, available via the direct link above, currently consists of 181 “episodes” that update daily, ranging from 1 to approximately 14 minutes long, and is largely similar to what you’ll find on MLB’s official YouTube channel which features highlights from recent games and features the “new” label Netflix has been employing for live WWE events over the past year and more recently for its podcast offering.

Based on a glance at the interface, the hub breaks down the previous day’s baseball action into two main formats:
- Top 5 plays of the day: Quick, digestible 1 minute compilation reels for casual fans.
- Main features of the game: Strong, 10 to 14 minute recap videos for individual matchups.
For example, the list of content added for June 1 includes the top 5 1-minute plays of the day, as well as dedicated, 10+ minute highlight packages for specific games:
- Mets vs. Mariners
- Dodgers vs. D-backs
- Rockies vs Angels
- Rangers vs Cardinals
- giants vs brewers
- white sox vs twins
- Royals vs Reds
- Marlins vs. Nationals
- tigers vs rays
The latest push for Netflix in MLB
This quiet rollout is the latest piece of a huge, fast-growing puzzle between Netflix and Major League Baseball.
Over the past few years, the streamer has aggressively expanded its baseball-related offerings, transforming from a home for sports documentaries into an active broadcaster of the game. This daily highlights test perfectly complements the streamer’s ongoing baseball initiatives:
- Live Games and Huge Viewership: Netflix recently acquired the rights to live stream three MLB games from 2026 to 2028. We already know there is hunger; Netflix recently said its MLB Opening Night broadcast scored a whopping 3 million viewers. Next up will be the MLB T-Mobile Home Run Derby and MLB at Field of Dreams on July 13, 2026.
- Documentary: The streamer has produced two major projects featuring the Boston Red Sox, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the historic franchise.
- Global Tournament: Netflix also secured an exclusive partnership with World Baseball Classic Inc., ensuring that international baseball storylines would have a place on the platform in Japan.
This launch of a new Highlights Hub highlights how Netflix is competing directly with YouTube after looking at more casual viewing beyond its scripted and unscripted fare. This is an area we expect to see further expansion, the biggest push in this area over the past year has been podcasts, with over 50 available in the US alone, most of which get at least weekly updates, and some even go live daily.
