Younger brother (2026)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

If you need a good laugh to start your weekend, look no further than this new Netflix Original comedy. Directed by Matt Spicer (ingrid goes west), Younger brother The pairing of two completely anarchic comedic forces: John Cena and Eric Andre. The film tells the story of a highly successful, orderly real estate agent whose perfectly arranged life is turned upside down when an eccentric man from her past – her former match on the program “Big Brother-Little Brother” – unexpectedly resurfaces.

There’s a lot of buzz within Netflix about this film and we got to talk to some people who have already seen it. Will this translate into mass appeal? We will find out soon.

24th (2020)

Coming to Netflix: Saturday

Kevin Willmott’s gripping and overlooked historical drama is coming to Netflix this weekend, 24th. Co-written and starring Trai Byers (Empire), the film tells the overwhelming, powerful true story of the all-black Twenty-Fourth United States Infantry Regiment and the events leading up to the tragic Houston Riots of 1917. The soldiers are pushed to the brink, facing insults and brutal abuse from a racist local police force during the construction of a training camp.

It received rave reviews when it released six years ago (!) during Covid. For Robert Kozder Flickering Myth wrote in their review“It doesn’t have as powerful a punch as Willmott’s work with Spike Lee, but The 24th is a movie right now that shows why protests and riots are unfortunately still necessary.”
