Netflix doesn’t have a huge list of documentaries coming in July 2026, but there are still some big ones, ranging from series depicting the worst neighbors ever to an exploration of international disasters.
From one of the worst naval incidents of the century to an aviation disaster, Netflix has some big topics to explore in its lineup of documentaries for July 2026. The Dreamer also dives into more personal and high-stakes tales of terror, including a detailed look at Nightmare Neighbors worst neighbor ever.

Coming to Netflix: 1 July
After the huge success of the docuseries worst roommate ever In 2022 and its second season in 2024, showrunner Cynthia Childs returns with a new 4-part series in the same vein, except this time she explores and exposes the true cases of the world’s worst neighbors, ranging from heinous fraud schemes to senseless acts of violent vengeance.
The series reconstructs its worst neighbor cases through first-hand interviews of those involved, police body-cam footage, and dramatic reenactments. It is produced by Jason Blum of Blumhouse Productions, whose filmography includes everything from M3GAN To The Purge. “If you want to appreciate your neighbor, see how bad it can be,” Blum. teased on instagram.
Miguel Angel Blanco: The 48 hours that changed Spain
Coming to Netflix: 10th July
In 1997, the Basque separatist group ETA kidnapped Spanish councilor Miguel Ángel Blanco, who was 29 at the time. Blanco was the councilor of Ermua, a town in Biscay, and his kidnapping marked the beginning of a 48-hour hostage situation, where ETA threatened to kill him unless the Spanish government transferred all ETA prisoners to prisons in the Basque Country. After the 48-hour deadline expired, Blanco was shot in the back of the head. This situation caused widespread anger across the country and fear transformed into mass resistance. It shaped Spain’s fight against ETA terrorism.
The documentary marks the 29th anniversary of Blanco’s death – the exact age he was murdered. It contains 30 testimonies, including those from people who were important public figures at the time. This is the most thorough investigation of the case so far.

In 2012, the Costa Concordia luxury cruise ship – a Titan ship carrying more than 4,000 people – capsized in the middle of a cruise route along the Mediterranean Sea. While performing a sail-by salute it struck a rock on the seabed. The incident is widely considered one of the largest cruise disasters in modern history, with the loss of 32 lives.
Dubbed an in-depth documentary by Netflix, it chronicles the disaster through never-before-seen footage and survivor accounts,
a toxic love story
Coming to Netflix: 22 July
there is very little information yet a toxic love story. The 88-minute true-crime documentary explores a violent fictional plot aimed at a woman’s ex-boyfriend’s new wife.
The official Netflix description reads: “In a glamorous California suburb, a young woman is arrested for a violent imaginary plot against her ex-boyfriend The New Wife becomes a sensational scandal, but the truth remains hidden behind a sophisticated web of deception. As the investigation unravels layers of betrayal, it becomes unclear who is the real victim and who is the villain in a game where everyone is playing a role.

Coming to Netflix: 30th July
In December 1988, the deadliest terrorist attack in British history occurred on a Boeing 747 transatlantic flight from Frankfurt to Detroit, when a bomb was detonated over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie, resulting in the deaths of all 243 passengers and 16 crew. In this tragic incident, 11 residents also died due to falling debris from the plane.
The documentary will follow the events that unfolded after the tragic incident and the collaboration between US law enforcement and Scottish police to seek justice for the victims and their families and find those responsible.
