Rumble for life friends! Seth MacFarlane’s foul-mouthed teddy bear is packing his bags and moving abroad. We’ve learned that the Peacock Originals prequel series is a hit ted It is set to officially debut on Netflix in several international territories later this month.
We can confirm that the first season of ted Will be available to stream on Netflix in select international territories starting Thursday, April 30, 2026. However, this is a very limited rollout, as we’ll understand in a second.
Because ted A Peacock original produced by Universal Content Productions (UCP), its international distribution is a bit like a patchwork quilt. NBCUniversal is increasingly willing to license its shows to Netflix globally, but it is highly dependent on pre-existing deals and local streaming landscapes.
Areas being ted: The April 30 rollout includes a solid mix of regions South Africa and several major European markets such as Italy, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Greece.

What about UK and US? Naturally, in regions where Peacock is present (like the US) or where Comcast operates under a different banner (like Sky/NowTV in the UK), the series won’t be coming to Netflix any time soon. However, given the current licensing environment, where even HBO and Disney shows have made the jump to Netflix, don’t completely rule it out for the future!

The Lowdown: What is the TED series about?
Serving as a prequel to the huge 2012 comedy film (which frequents Netflix on a regular basis globally), the series turns the clock back to 1993. Ted the Bear’s fifteen minutes of fame is long gone, and he is now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett.
The series captures the classic, boundary-pushing humor of Seth MacFarlane while wrapping it in the structure of vintage family sitcoms from the ’90s. John and Ted deal with the awkwardness of high school, first crushes and teenage rebellion – usually resulting in disastrous, R-rated trouble for both of them, much to the dismay of John’s working-class parents and progressive cousins.
seth macfarlane returned to write, direct, and provide the iconic voice and motion capture for Ted. He is also joined by a hilarious live-action group:
- max burkholder (parenthood) stepping into Mark Wahlberg’s shoes as young John Bennett.
- Alana Ubach (Excitement) as John’s loving, long-suffering mother, Susan.
- Scott Grimes (orville, American Dad!) as John’s loud, traditional father, Matty.
- Georgia Whigham As Blair, John’s eccentric, college-aged cousin who lives with the family.
