The best new shows and movies coming to Netflix this week

A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (season 2)

Coming to Netflix: Wednesday

Emma Myers is officially back on the case! Following the tremendous success of the first season, which became a huge global hit for Netflix and BBC iPlayer, the highly anticipated second season A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder It will premiere this Wednesday. This time, as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears, and Pip Fitz-Amobie finds himself in a desperate race against time to find him. As we noted in our extensive preview, this new secret will push Pip even further away from the “good girl” she once was.

dead man’s telegram (2025)

Coming to Netflix: Thursday

We have some good news for those waiting to see Gus Van Sant’s critically acclaimed hostage thriller on streaming. Based on a true story from 1977, dead man’s telegram Bill Skarsgård plays Tony Kiritsis, a disgruntled man who takes a corrupt mortgage broker hostage by holding a loaded gun to his neck. What followed was an intense 63-hour standoff broadcast live across the country.

If you missed seeing this tense ’70s drama during its theatrical run earlier this year, check out our full release details and buckle up for an absolute wild ride.

Brazil ’70: The Third Star (limited series)

Coming to Netflix: Friday

Sports fans are having an incredibly good meal this week (except for Rafa Nadal, Vinnie Jones, and other original docs for Amy Martinez!), but our top pick is this fantasy deep dive into the 1970 Brazilian World Cup team.

Produced by the acclaimed O2 Films (City of God), this miniseries depicts the emotional journey of “Saga Do Tri”. Set against the harshest phase of Brazil’s military dictatorship, the series balances the on-field talents of icons like Pelé and Carlos Alberto with the immense off-field pressure of a nation at a political crossroads. Before we dive in this weekend, check out our first look at the miniseries here.
