A lot happened between the main friends Kate (Tina Fey), Jack (Will Forte), Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), Anne (Kerry Kenny-Silver) and Ginny (Erika Henningsen). four seasons‘Second season. Even the power of Vivaldi can’t match the marital and personal drama that erupts between them after Nick (Steve Carell) passes away.
The season expands beyond the Alan Alda feature on which it is based, taking the friends from domestic vacation homes to Claude’s hometown in Italy by the finale. So, what happened to each couple or couple by the end of The Four Seasons season 2? Let’s break it down.
WARNING: The following section contains spoilers. proceed with caution!
Claude and Danny move to Italy…until.
Claude and Dany faced many difficulties this season, with each life choice being more definitive than the last. They look for surrogates to start a family for some time but eventually abandon the plan.
On Thanksgiving, Danny decides to go to Italy with Claude – much to Kate’s dismay and disbelief. But he moves on, feeling the weight of the sacrifice of 16 years of living in America to be with Claude and be closer to his family. Now it’s Danny’s turn to give back.

However, in the finale, Danny learns that his mother (Varnee Watson) had a fall and needs the family’s support. He visits her in her time of need and tries to convince her to come with him to Europe. Despite his strong pleading, she politely refuses. Claude overhears and makes an executive decision: they will stay in America to take care of Danny’s mother, moving into her upstairs apartment.
Kate and Jack learn to open up
Throughout the season, Kate and Jack – a couple plagued by marital mishaps – attempt their own solo ventures, all of which blows up negatively in their faces and worsens their already poor communication. Kate’s plans to start a B&B with Danny fail when Danny moves to Italy with Claude. Meanwhile, Jack sprains his ankle after kicking a turkey on Thanksgiving (making a scene in frustration), derailing his year-long training for the marathon.
But in the final episode, during Danny and Claude’s vacation trip to Italy, Kate suddenly encourages Jack to run a marathon. Kilometers over miles be damned metric. When he tries to give up from exhaustion, Kate runs with him. Together, as they head towards the finish line, they finally open up about their fears and what is tearing them apart. They cross the finish line together, sit on a bench, celebrate and profess their love. As the saying goes, the couple that runs a marathon together, stays together.

Anne and Ginny became best friends
Without Nick for a whole year, Anne tries to find her soulmate again. She grows closer to Nick’s surviving girlfriend Ginny, who now has her child Gino. Anne provides home and support during the first few months of Ginny’s motherhood. But as Anne tries to restart her life as “Anne 2.0,” she finds herself stuck in her grief — an episode reminiscent of Pandemic Thanksgiving, in which Carell’s Nick is brought back for one episode. Also there she learns that he had been cheating on her long before he met Ginny and the subsequent divorce.
In the finale, while in Italy, Anne lies to her one-night summer hookup Mark (Steven Pasquale) about living in Italy and having a new boyfriend named Gianpiero – this is when Mark reveals that he has got a new girlfriend. When Mark shuts her out, Anne thinks about her difficult year and feels defeated. But Ginny corroborates her, insisting that Classic Anne did a great job being an amazing person that year.
The development of Anne and Ginny’s friendship is the best element of the season. The heartwarming chemistry between Kerry Kenney-Silver and Erika Henningsen is enough to bring anyone to tears.
Anne got her rhythm back?
With Danny and Claude deciding to stay in America, Anne decides to stay in Italy and be there for them, and begins her new adventure.
As Kate and Jack head back home, Anne meets a dashing man who is collecting her mail, only for her name. Gianpiero. And the man portraying him is none other than the Tenth Doctor himself, David Tennant.

What does this leave for Season 3?
We’re probably hoping Tennant will join the duo as Gianpiero. Anne will have a brand new man, and we’ll see how their budding relationship blossoms. Get out of the way, Emily in Paris, Anne in Italy. What will the Italian experience be like for Anne when she returns to America? Will Gianpiero also come to America? How will he fit in with the rest of the core group? Hopefully, we’ll find out when and how The Four Seasons will be renewed for season 3. More information about its renewal possibilities in the coming weeks.
