Netflix’s adult animated comedy lineup has lost another member. strip lawThe Vegas courtroom comedy, from creator Cullen Crawford, will not return for a second season.

First revealed to be in development during its production cycle, the series promised a chaotic, fast-paced approach to the legal procedural format. We got our first real taste of the madness later when Netflix released a trailer and first look, announcing a voice cast that included Joel McHale and Ikechukwu Ufomadu.

Unfortunately, it looks like the jury has reached a verdict, and the show’s time on the streamer has come to a premature end.

Series creator Cullen Crawford took bluesky To confirm the news directly with fans, expressing his gratitude to his team and the audience who tuned in:

“So they told me there would no longer be Strip Law on Netflix, I really can’t do anything other than be grateful.

At every stage it was created by talented people to create nothing but pure chaotic delirious fun and I’m very proud of it

Thanks to everyone who gave it a chance”

While the show largely struggled to find a mainstream audience – something we noted in our review of the series, where we highlighted that “the wild Vegas animated courtroom comedy can’t escape its own bad jokes” – it undeniably had a passionate, distinctive creative vision.

Viewership for the show was difficult to gauge, as it failed to feature in any daily top 10 and missed any weekly top 10. The trailer may give us the biggest hint of the reveal yet; However, the official trailer has garnered just over 100K views.

In our exclusive interview with Crawford ahead of its cancellation, the creator opened up about the show’s “machine gun jokes,” his dedication to legal parody, and the production’s firm stance on banning AI. That practical, human-first approach is exactly what Crawford celebrated in his farewell post.

But Crawford wasn’t quite finished. Knowing that the story wouldn’t get a proper conclusion on screen, they decided to reward the show’s dedicated Bluesky fanbase with a massive spoiler about where the overarching mystery was going:

“I thought it was ridiculous and there was a lot of bullshit that we were supposed to do, but I’ll let you in on a little big secret because Bluesky has been a huge champion for this show

You finally learn in the series finale that this guy in the credits turns out to be…Lincoln.

The cards are from Sheela in the pilot.”

The cancellation of Strip Law adds to the growing list of adult animated series that have struggled to secure a long-term future on Netflix, proving once again how difficult it is for new animated IPs to break through the noise. For example, last year we learned that Twilight of the GodsAmong others, will not return. They join other animated comedies suffering the one-season curse, such as mulligan, Farzaar, agent elvis, Q-forceAnd Chicago Party Aunty.
