The production of Netflix’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of Eloise has officially brought its mischief to the streets of New York City in recent days. We’ve got a bunch of first looks at the set, plus everything we know so far about the upcoming family film.
Based on the beloved 1950s children’s books written by Kay Thompson and illustrated by Hilary Knight, Eloise is being brought to life by Gilmore Girls and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
While the bulk of principal photography began in the UK (specifically London and Shepperton) in late November 2025, production has officially moved to the Big Apple. By the end of May 2026, “NY Unit” is installing cameras, and we have the set photos to prove it!
First look at Eloise on set in NYC
Recent photos from the New York set offer our first look at the newcomer mae schenck Stepping into the iconic Mary Janes of six-year-old Jeopardy.
Schenck looks like she stepped right out of the original portrayal of Hilary Knight. In one shot, she can be seen wearing Eloise’s signature white blouse, black pleated suspender skirt and a red ribbon in her hair while exiting a classic NYC yellow cab. In another picture, she is standing near the door of the prestigious Plaza Hotel wearing pink checkered pajama and red heart-shaped sunglasses.
Amy Sherman-Palladino fans will also notice a familiar name on the clapperboard: M.David Mullen ASC. The acclaimed cinematographer, who worked extensively with Sherman-Palladino on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, is serving as director of photography, ensuring that the film will have a gorgeous, vibrant look.
Also spotted on set max casella (Llewyn Davis, Inside the Tulsa King) Chatting with Schenck on the red-carpeted stairs in a dark gray suit, along with the young actor isaac bay (Unfrosted), who was seen sharing a scene with Schenck outside the hotel and in the back of a taxi cab.
