Netflix often licenses reality shows from multiple distributors and networks, but this is a first in our books: The Roku Channel’s Emeril Cook will first land on Netflix in the US on July 7, 2026.
For those unfamiliar, the series first debuted as a Roku Original in 2022. It stars celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse (best known for his days on the Food Network). before he was thrown out) Blending his distinct passion for food with the rich culinary history of New Orleans, highlighting local businesses and creating some incredible dishes in his own kitchen.
The series has run for several seasons, although it is currently unclear how many will be licensed to Netflix.
Seeing Roku Originals make the jump to Netflix US is a fascinating development in the streaming realm. Netflix has acquired a considerable amount of licenses from all of its competitors at this time. While Roku has built up a solid library over the past few years — from digging up the defunct Quibi catalog to producing major films like Weird: The Al Yankovic Story — they haven’t previously licensed their homegrown originals to Netflix stateside. You can probably tell that Roku Original Movie Zoey’s Extravagant Christmas Netflix was licensed a while ago, but that was only for international regions like Australia and parts of Europe. Emeril Cooks has broken new ground as the first to hit the US library, and we’ll be keeping a close eye to see if more Roku titles follow suit.

This isn’t the only new cooking content coming to Netflix on the licensed front. Starting June 17, the streamer will add multiple seasons America’s Test Kitchen. The beloved, long-running PBS staple is famous for its scientific approach to recipes, rigorous kitchen appliance reviews and foolproof cooking tips. If you’re looking to up your home cooking game, this is a great watch. Seasons 24, 25, and 26 will arrive on Netflix US.

Netflix has been hitting it up with international culinary hits lately, and this new Thai reality series promises high-stakes kitchen drama, mouth-watering street food challenges, and a fierce battle to see who will be crowned the ultimate Street Food King.
Also, starting today, Netflix has released the first episode of the new season Recipe Club “At the Movies” The first guest was Sean Fennessey, along with David Chang and Chris Ying. This is in addition to the regular episodes of dave chang show Releasing 2 new episodes every week. It continues the fruitful, ongoing partnership between Netflix and Majordomo Media, giving foodies an insightful look at the culinary world and its intersection with pop culture.
Whether you’re craving high-end cuisine, international street food battles, or a casual food-centric feast, the next few weeks are going to be deliciously packed for Netflix subscribers.
On Netflix’s own originals slate, Cooking’s output seems a little low right now. next generation chef It appears to have been discontinued after one season which began last September. All iron Chef The titles also appear to be paused. The international side is a little brighter Cooking Class War Due to return with Season 3, and of course, The Great British Baking Show Will return to America at the end of this year.
