Given its tremendous success and 9 million global views in its first few months, it was no easy task when Netflix officially renewed the Indigenous-led comedy for Season 2 on April 29, 2025. Its streaming success was in addition to picking up several awards at the Canadian Screen Awards, including Best Comedy Series.

What is the production status of answer to answer season 2?
We’re happy to report that filming a second season is officially no longer possible!
Production on season 2 began on January 20, 2026. Filming took place in Iqaluit, Nunavut, as well as in Toronto, with Red Marrow Media and Northwood Entertainment handling production. The cameras ran throughout the winter and officially shut down in April 2026.

Writer and director Zoe Hopkins details some of the work on shooting such a show wrote on instagram“Our cast and crew worked very hard up north. We started shooting in the studio in Toronto and then came up north for the hard part. It was so beautiful! And very challenging and very cold. We had three blizzards that canceled our work. We worked with wind chills from -20 to -50 or worse. I’m in awe of the Inuit. I love the Arctic and my heart is full of this show. Thank you to everyone who worked for you. Since the post-production of the show is currently going on intensively, it is only a matter of time before we see some first-look images or a teaser trailer.
when is it answer to answer Season 2 Release Date?
Although Netflix has not yet revealed an exact global premiere date, it has been widely confirmed by APTN, CBC, and Netflix that season 2 will launch later in 2026.
Initial CBC listing confirms season for Fall 2026 expected to premiere But 8 September 2026. Its eight confirmed episodes, each running approximately 30 minutes, will air on the Canadian network until September 29, 2026. If Season 2 follows the same trend, we could see it arriving on Netflix by October 2026, but if we have to wait two months, like we did for Season 1, then by the end of December.
Comment: For Season 1, the series first debuted in Canada on CBC and APTN in January 2025 before hitting Netflix globally in April 2025. It still remains to be seen whether Season 2 will follow a similar staggered release window or whether we’ll get it all together this time, but it’s highly expected to return in Fall 2026.
Who is returning to the cast for Season 2?
Fans will be thrilled to know that all of your favorite Ice Coves are heading back to the Arctic. anna lambe (True Detective: Night Country, Trickster) will reprise her lead role as the chaotic, loveable Syaja.

If you need a quick refresher, the first season introduced us to Siaja, a young Inuk mother who dreams of reinventing herself after her extremely spontaneous and public exit from her marriage to the town’s “golden boy” Ting. Through eight half-hour episodes, we see her navigate single motherhood, dating in a remote town with very limited options, and long-standing family dynamics — all in a place where everyone knows your business.
While the exact plot details of season 2 are being kept safely under wraps, the new season will continue to follow Siaja’s journey as she builds her new life in Ice Cove. Expect plenty of cultural clashes, hilarious town-wide gossip and heartwarming community moments between Inuk natives and white settlers as the show continues to tackle real issues faced by Inuit communities through its sharp, comedic lens.
one in recent interviewSeason 2, teased by Anna Lambe, is “crazier” and more intense than the first, while also allowing viewers to get to know the characters on a much deeper level. He said the experience took him through a range of emotions from joy to heartbreak and devastation, and described it as “without question, the hardest filming I’ve ever done in my entire life.” Lambe said that filming took place in brutal conditions, with temperatures reaching 50 degrees below zero for four consecutive weeks, but he stressed that “every day is worth it.” She said she didn’t know how the producers could have made season one any better, “but they did,” and said she couldn’t wait for viewers to see the new season.
