What to expect from Beauty in Black Season 3?
Season 2 ended with a boardroom team-up that was two seasons in the making, and the power dynamic has completely changed. With the return of Horace (Rico Ross) and an unlikely alliance formed between Kimmy and former rival Mallory (Crystal Stewart), the Bellary Empire is about to be freed of its bad blood.
Here’s the official Netflix logline for the upcoming 8-episode third season:
“Kimmy has finally found a seat at the Bellary table, but when a deadly family feud erupts, she is forced into an uneasy alliance with Mallory. Together, they navigate a brutal world of blackmail, revenge and buried secrets as the family wages war against one of their own, threatening to bring down the entire empire.”
Speaking on the changing dynamics in the new season, Perry teased to Netflix: “By the end of Season 2, the whole power structure changes. Part 2 is really the moment when Kimmy stops surviving and starts playing the game. And once she does that … no one is safe in the Bellary family.”
The streaming service also promises that next season we’ll begin to see Kimmy “stepping fully into her power with the support she needs,” but the ultimate question for the final six episodes of the season will be whether she can actually keep it up.
As for the fallout from turning Horace’s sons Roy and Charles, his suspicious brother Norman, and his angry ex-wife Olivia over to the FBI? Netflix notes that “a lot of truths are revealed, and the characters begin to realize that the game they are playing is bigger and more dangerous than they thought.”
Netflix said the most recent episode left viewers “in a moment where it feels like everything is about to explode. Alliances are shifting, motivations are revealed, and characters are forced to confront the consequences of the choices they’ve made.”
And don’t forget about Jules, Bellary’s head of security. Netflix warns that “the grief can be relentless,” and when it comes to her son’s mysterious death, Jules is never going to stop asking questions.
First glimpses of Season 3
Along with the release date, Netflix also released a batch of first-look images for the new season, which tease the tense boardroom meetings, FBI perp walks, and suspect interrogations to come:
In the photos, we see Kimmy and Mallory together, a group of FBI agents leading Bellary’s people down the stairs, as well as Kimmy sitting in a tense boardroom meeting with Mallory and Horace, having a more intense standoff.
