Welcome to your weekly look at what’s hitting Netflix in the United States over the next seven days. It’s going to be a blockbuster week for the streamer, with a highly anticipated sci-fi spin-off, the return of a comedy favorite, and a major SVOD film premiere adding to the roster from April 20 to April 26, 2026.

On the elimination front, today is your last day to watch all the James Bond movies before they leave for the night. Sony Pictures’ first-window film Grandmothersstarring Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson, is also scheduled to be released at the end of the week, and is well worth a watch.

This brand new animated anthology series takes us back to the neon-drenched summer of 1985. Promising a blend of Saturday morning cartoon nostalgia and that signature Hawkins science-fiction horror, the series explores unseen adventures that took place just before the events of season 3. If you’re suffering from Demogorgon withdrawal, this one is definitely worth a watch.

Netflix is making its (partial) SVOD debut on US as part of its ongoing Pay-1 output deal with Universal Pictures BugoniaThe latest mind-bending sci-fi comedy from visionary director Yorgos Lanthimos (bad things, types of kindness).
Starring his frequent collaborators Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, the film is an Oscar-nominated English-language remake of the 2003 South Korean film. Save the Green Planet!. It is the story of two conspiracy-obsessed young men who kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, completely convinced that he is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth. It’s bizarre, insanely hilarious, and exactly the kind of eccentric cinema that makes for a great weekend movie night.

Mindy Kaling’s hit sports comedy series is back on the court for its sophomore season!
Kate Hudson returns as Isla Gordon, the unpredictable and newly appointed president of the famed Los Angeles Waves basketball franchise. After dramatic changes in the front office at the end of season one, Isla now faces pressure from the entire town – and her highly suspicious family – as she tries to lead the team to a championship.
