If you’ve been keeping track of Netflix’s top 10 charts this week, you’ll already know that the brand new original shark thriller spanking Benefiting from competition in a big way. Since its premiere last week, the film has been dominating the global charts. This should not be surprising. under paris Did the exact same thing last year; People can’t get enough of shark disaster thrillers.
Dominating the top 10 since its first release, Thrash follows stranded residents who must escape fast-moving waters filled with predatory sharks after a devastating storm. The film was picked up by Netflix after its production was completed last year.
Reviews for spanking Not most were kind (including our own), but that’s par for the course with genre-thriller films like this one. They are not Oscar contenders. Of course, that didn’t stop the film from scoring the third-biggest opening weekend for Netflix in 2026 behind War Machine and The Rip, which debuted with 54M hours watched, which equates to 37.7M views.
