Eric Andre is becoming well established at Netflix for his original comedic content, despite his beloved eric andre show. His other endeavors – both in standup and leading original features – have also been a frequent presence on the stage.
The three projects he has co-led vary in style and quality, but all share his signature wacky, vulgar, and fearless antics that will definitely hit your funny bone. with Younger brother Seeing Andre come to life as John Cena – yet delivering his most honest and sincere performance to date – let’s see how his front-facing Netflix work compares to his latest project. And we’re talking about projects that Andre has led or co-led. It would be unfair to include his minor roles in this happy gilmore 2 And michelle vs machines. We’re talking about the real new king of madness coming into the limelight.

legalize everything

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and Eric Andre’s comedy is special legalize everything Gives an example of this. If you prefer Andre’s surreal comedic style in a proper stand-up format, this is for his most hardcore fans, not anyone else. Andre’s hour-long set consists mostly of long-winded stories about his getting high, slipping hard, getting hard, sliding, and any number of other things, with no real discernible punchlines or jokes strung together to keep you on board or interesting. Occasionally, the rush of work leads to a light laugh, but this is interrupted by his speaking too loudly. His emphasis is amusing, but not when it requires a stand-up environment where he often does. At the end, legalize everything This is an extension of one of their brand experiments that gets lost in translation.

Younger brother

as if someone has gone around eric andre show In a 90s-style Farrelly Brothers film, Younger brother This is as classic as R-rated screwball buddy comedies get. As Marcus, Andre anchors this familiarly raucous and rambunctious affair – about a kind-hearted orphan who’s intruding into the life of his Big Brother Program mentor (Cena) – with a winsome, unknowable sweetness that gives the film its good-natured charm, blending silly charm with his trademark anarchic nature. Cena and Andre are entertaining, but it’s mostly Andre’s Marcus interactions with everyone that warms the movie. He is so charming that he makes out with the nurse who was taking care of him earlier in the day while her boyfriend watched her twice. His power. Although it’s not particularly noteworthy and the comic writing is sporadically funny, this all-encompassing family story is so big-hearted that it sometimes overshadows its own hilarity. You know what? Maybe this is what more R-rated comedies should do. Who needs shore when you have heart?

bad trip

bad trip This is one of the funniest hidden-camera prank comedy features to date—sorry bad grandfather (Although director Jeff Tremaine produces, so let’s say bad grandfather so gone bad trip can be OK). This Netflix acquisition (after a failed SXSW premiere, A questionable close-deal with Quibiand an Amazon leak) is an absolutely hilarious delight that sees Andre at the peak of his comedic abilities. It takes the standard road-trip comedy template featuring Eric Andre and Lil Rel Howery as best friends Chris and Bud who are on the road to NYC looking for love, and cranks it up to 11. Meanwhile, Tiffany Haddish plays Trina, an escaped convict who is looking for her brother, Bud, after they took her car.
But the main attraction stems from clueless onlookers reacting to the madness around them. Fueled by the irrepressible, improvisational talent of Andre and Tiffany Haddish, most of the insanely gross or slapstick gags left me cringing, coupled with the natural reactions of strangers. Its structure and cinematography make it feel like much more than a prank film; Ample dynamic shots capture the chaos like a regular studio comedy, making it feel like a real love letter to the genre. It’s no surprise that Kitao Sakurai is directing Street Fighter (which also stars Andre…let’s find out). You’ll constantly be asking, “How did they do that?” and “How do these people not know who Eric Andre, Lil Rel Howery, or Tiffany Haddish are? They’re not even in makeup!” bad trip It’s the best ride you can take and remains Andre’s best Netflix outing to date.
