Now’s the time to start planning your ultimate binge-watching session because Netflix is doing some summer house cleaning. From early sci-fi co-productions to some stand-up comedy specials, here are the full details of every Netflix Original set to leave the streamer in July and August 2026.

As we’ve covered extensively over the past few years, the “Netflix Original” branding doesn’t mean a show or movie is immune from cutting. Netflix often obtains exclusive international streaming rights to titles for a certain period of time (usually between 3 and 10 years). Once those licensing agreements run their course, titles leave the platform – even if they have a red “N” written on them.

While Netflix retains full ownership of most of its library, hundreds of specially licensed originals have already been removed. If you want to see everything coming out of the platform over the next few months, you can check out our comprehensive guides for July and August.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the biggest Netflix Originals leaving this summer, followed by a full chronological list of departures.

In 2019, HBO released one of the best limited series ever: Chernobyl. It depicted the nuclear power plant disaster and its aftermath in astonishing detail, receiving numerous awards. Russia was not particularly fond of its representation, so it was decided that a Russian counterpart would be released, and Netflix acquired exclusive streaming rights in several territories, including the UK, but not exclusively the US.

Danila Kozlovsky scored the film and was one of its artists, wanting to portray the story’s heroes in a positive light. It’s not a great film by any means, and it certainly channels that period of history in true Russian fashion, but it’s an interesting approach, and given that most Russian titles don’t find new streaming homes (for obvious reasons), this is probably your last chance to see it. He leaves Netflix after a five-year tenure.
