Tudum! It’s that unmistakable sound you associate with Netflix’s library of 4,000+ movies and series. Still, intros have evolved tremendously over the years, and some Netflix Originals have even been given custom intros.
The first Netflix logo used the now-seemingly ancient Netflix DVD logo, which, as we can see, can only be found here lilyhammer. This then quickly evolved into a wipe stating “A Netflix Original Series”, which can still be found in the first season House of cards.
From there, we transitioned to a white background and Netflix’s updated logo in mid-to-late 2018. Since then, we’ve had a slow reveal of Netflix’s signature “N.” You can see variations of the “Sting” logo below:

drama netflix tudum
An expanded version of the primary TUDUM logo debuted It was screened at the Venice Film Festival when it premiered on Netflix Roma in 2018. It is now used for all theatrical releases, whether they are films at a festival or films shown in select theaters where Netflix films are screened. TUDUM sound is displayed, but as part of a Musical piece composed by Hans Zimmer. When films move from their limited theatrical run to Netflix, they traditionally revert to the standard TUDUM.
That said, in late 2023, Netflix put the extended edition on the streaming service for the first time. Although Hans Zimmer’s music is missing, Rebel Moon – Part One: Child of Fire And artist Both feature an extended logo sting, in place of which the composer from the respective film provides the music. shiny
fantasy action film 2017 shiny This was one of the earliest examples of Netflix making changes to the intro, even if it was just the audio. As the standard logo is formed, the crackling sound of magic and lightning plays over the scene, transitioning directly into the traditional Tudum sound. This aural transformation matches the film’s gritty, magic-filled modern world perfectly.
stranger things
The first time we saw a custom Netflix logo sting designed to match a show stranger things. This intro applies to all seasons of the hit sci-fi series, featuring the classic red thunderbolt from the Upside Down as the Netflix logo flashes across your screen. Additionally, you can clearly hear the Demogorgon screaming in the background. These touches perfectly set the tone for the show, directly referencing the alternate dimension that haunts Hawkins and the terrifying apex predator introduced in the first season.
This sting was all updated to mark the arrival of Season 5, starting with two kids’ bikes lying on the floor in front of Hawkins Lab in Hawkins, and then pulling us into the Upside Down.
Magician

Magician Also received a custom intro treatment, featuring a blue, gloomy background in a forest of dead trees, with Kikimora screaming and standing on its hind legs. Geralt famously fought this insectoid creature in season 1. The intro beautifully captures the dark fantasy aesthetic of the continent and Geralt’s dangerous profession as a monster hunter.

This is another Netflix original to get special treatment since the beginning of its life 3 physical problemsWhich features a static-y TUDUM effect and three glowing circles around the Netflix logo. The three spheres directly reference the series’ main science-fiction premise – the “three-body problem” of orbital mechanics – representing three unexpected suns that strike the alien San-Ti civilization.
bridgerton (season 3)

For bridgerton In Season 3, the Netflix logo sting got a glam-up, with a turquoise-patterned background and a flowery Netflix logo appearing front and center. A bumblebee flies towards the camera before the logo zooms in. Fans of the show will immediately recognize the significance of the bee: it serves as a recurring motif in honor of the late patriarch, Lord Edmund Bridgerton, symbolizing family history, shared grief, and lasting legacy.
senna
senna Netflix’s massive Brazilian series focuses on Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna. The series features a custom logo sting in which the camera zooms in on a vintage Formula 1 car, and the Netflix logo appears within flashing red rain lights behind the vehicle. It’s a powerful tribute that instantly draws audiences to the racetrack, perfectly matching the adrenaline-fueled legacy of the iconic driver.
squid game
cultural event squid game It received highly detailed custom introductions for subsequent seasons. The logo sting features the show’s iconic, maze-like teal and pink staircase with masked guards marching ominously. As the “N” logo forms and zooms in, its lines become colored in the series’ signature pink, yellow and teal colors. To top it all, the opening bars of the track “Pink Soldiers” from the show’s soundtrack play before transitioning into a lower, more sinister variation of the classic TUDUM sound.
Wednesday (season 2)

for the second season of WednesdayThe intro gets a suitably terrifying twist starring everyone’s favorite disembodied hand, the Thing. The sequence shows the Thing walking through a moonlit graveyard and stopping next to three gravestones arranged perfectly to form the letter “N”. In a great nod to the classic addams family theme, the Thing snaps his fingers twice – the first snap creates an “N” in purple, and the second snap changes the logo to the standard red and black before the episode begins.
frankenstein
Among the big movie releases of 2025, Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein got the custom intro treatment on Netflix, with the logo emblazoned with two lightning barrels.
