Filming has officially begun in Clerkenwell, East London, for A matter of timeA brand new Netflix feature film directed by Harry Bradbeer. In addition to our previous report, we’ve got an exclusive first look at the cast on set in London, confirming three new additions to the cast: Amy Wren, Emma Sidy and Cecily Cleves. Who is in the cast of A Matter of Time? (Plus exclusive first look photos!)
Thanks to some eagle-eyed photographers from East London, we have our first exclusive look at the artists in action. The production saw scenes shot in Clerkenwell, mainly centered around a local pub and a church, which had a sign reading “St Peter’s Community Centre”.
The cast line-up features a great mix of Hollywood veterans and fast-rising UK stars. Along with previously announced leads Ben Stiller, Nicholas Galitzine, and Bella McLean, we’ve officially identified and confirmed three additional cast members from set photos: amy rain, emma sidiand young actress Cecily Cleve.
Here’s a look at the cast details, their notable credits, and what they were doing on set:
- Ben Stiller (There’s Something About Severance, Zoolander, Mary): Stiller was seen standing near the entrance of the community center and chatting with the crew, looking sharp and commanding in a blue tailored suit.
- nicholas gallitzin (Red, White and Royal Blue, The Idea of You, Mary and George): The actor kept things smart-casual, seen walking the steps wearing a blue button-down shirt, jeans and a brown corduroy jacket. He was also seen laughing and joking on the director’s chairs while chatting with his co-star.
- bella mclean (sex education, rival): McLean was captured keeping it casual on the cobblestone streets in a light blue shirt, dark flared jeans and classic Adidas sneakers.
- emma sidi And amy rain: Both British actresses were confirmed on set. Sidi is best known for her scene stealing role and acting as Kate in Starstruck Evil spiritWhile Wren is highly recognizable as Mildrith in Netflix’s last empirewith roles in Approach And Wuthering Heights. The photos show a frantic, hurried scene in which a woman wearing a brown blazer and jeans is seen running down the stairs carrying a large blue duffel bag.
- Cecily Cleve (Legends, Widow Clicquot): The rising young star was seen posing alongside the busy scene wearing a maroon school uniform, along with a backpack, holding a brown stuffed animal.
While character names and specific roles are being kept under wraps, the comparison of Stiller’s sharp-suited character with Galitzine and McLean’s everyday casual looks has us wondering who will play the “unlikely angel” and who will be the “recluse.”

Netflix has provided a tantalizing official logline for the upcoming film, mixing high-level supernatural elements with romance:
“An unlikely angel is sent from heaven to persuade a lonely man to give up his life for the greater good. The man agrees, only for his impending death to spark a new lease on life, and a romance that threatens to change the course of history.”
directing the film harry bradbeerA name that will be incredibly familiar to Netflix fans. Bradbeer directed both enola holmes And enola holmes 2 for the streamer, and is highly celebrated for her Emmy-winning work on hit series like Fleabag and Killing Eve.
There are some heavy hitters behind the script, written by a collaborative team justin heath (revolutionary Road), Madeleine George (Only murders in the building), peter byrneand academy award winners Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire, The Full Monty).
The project is produced by debra hayward (Les Misérables, Bridget Jones’s Baby), larry mark (the greatest showman), And Sony Pictures. Michael Dreyer (two pops) serves as executive producer.
What is the production status and release date?
As our exclusive photos reveal, A Matter of Time currently in production By summer 2026. Given the current filming schedule, it is too early for Netflix to announce an official release date.
Assuming a standard production cycle, we expect filming to be completed in the coming months, putting the film on track for promising potential. Release mid to late 2027.
