good girls Wholly owned and produced by Universal Television. Netflix simply paid a premium to have exclusive international streaming rights for a certain period of time. With that countdown timer ending, the rights are being reverted back to NBCUniversal. (Although we don’t have official confirmation yet, we wouldn’t be surprised to see the show on regional versions of Peacock, Sky or Prime Video in the near future). This is roughly the same eviction cadence we saw for The Good Place, another NBC show that Netflix aired exclusively internationally and as a licensed show in the US.
What about Netflix in the United States?
If you’re reading this in the US, you’re safe for now. are good girls No Leaving Netflix US on July 22, 2026.
Because the series originally aired on NBC in the United States, Netflix never carried “Original” branding domestically. Instead, it was licensed in the same way as any other third-party show, with new seasons arriving on Netflix US shortly before the new season premiered on network TV. However, because it is not owned by Netflix, the clock is still ticking. We expect Good Girls to leave Netflix US once the domestic legacy licensing window ends in the coming years.
In the US, Netflix released the season approximately a year after international regions, with the final season arriving in March 2022. We can probably expect America to lose the show sometime in 2027.

Why wasn’t there a season 5 of Good Girls?
As we looked back in 2022, a fifth and final season was indeed in the works. The plan was to bring the show back for a brief finale to conclude the storyline. Unfortunately, the studio and network could not straighten out the financial situation. Since the show was heavily dependent on its Netflix deal to remain profitable, there were rumors that Netflix might step in to bail it out entirely. Sadly, the underlying studio rights and budget constraints proved too complicated and the show was quietly closed.
