Just when you thought the sun had set on the spectacular Belgian coastal town of Knokke, Netflix comes up with a big surprise. After wrapping up its final act with Season 3, the hit Belgian-Dutch teen drama High Tides (known locally as Knock Off) is officially returning for a feature-length film!
In true High Tides fashion, the announcement was not made via a press release. Instead, the news came out over the weekend in the most rockstar way possible (hat tip). heads up stupid cowboy!)
First arriving on Netflix in 2023, the series recently concluded with its third and final season on April 3, 2026. The show once again entered the weekly top 10 with 1.6 million views for the period from April 5 to April 12.
During a live concert at the AFAS Dome on Saturday night, series lead and pop star Pomelien Thijs was surprised on stage by his fellow performers. He dismantled the set, holding a large board that read: “Pomelien, verget je nuits?” (“Pomelien, aren’t you forgetting something?”). Shortly afterwards, the upcoming film was officially announced in front of a roaring crowd.
Footage of the surprising revelation quickly reached the venue’s Instagram page, and Thijs himself took to social media Later that night the film was officially marked as “in production”, confirming the news. Clappers placed on the stage clearly displayed the words: Knock Off: Day Film and Netflix.

What do we know so far about the High Tides movie?
Behind the camera, the film is in familiar hands. It is being produced by Flemish production company Dingee, the same team behind the hit series, in collaboration with distributor Dutch Filmworks and Belgian broadcaster VRT.
As far as the plot is concerned? It is being held down tightly. Right now, the story remains completely under wraps, and Netflix hasn’t officially confirmed which familiar faces will return for the feature film – though given the concert stunt, we can safely bet on a reunion of the main cast.
For those who may need a quick refresher, High Tides follows a group of privileged young adults who spend their summer in the seaside resort town of Knokke. Behind the glitz, designer clothes and endless parties lies a dark web of tension, secrets and intense personal drama. The show became a huge breakout hit for Netflix thanks to its intense drama and incredible cast.
Along with Pomelien Thijs, the series stars Willem de Shriver, Anna Drijver, Elijah Altena and Geert Van Rampelberg. The recently concluded third season introduced Dan Schurmans and Nola Elvis Kemper to the messy coastal drama.
When will the movie High Tides be on Netflix?
Because the production has just been announced and is still in its early stages, we don’t have a release date or window yet. We may have to wait a long time before we return to Knokke – but knowing that the story isn’t over yet is enough to keep us going.
