July 2026 is officially heart arrester month. If the upcoming final film wasn’t enough, Netflix has unveiled a jam-packed “Heartstopper Summer” timeline, capped off by a newly announced behind-the-scenes documentary, Heartstopper: Ending on Hi.
It’s hard to believe that we’re finally nearing the end of Nick and Charlie’s on-screen journey. As we previously reported, the highly anticipated feature-length finale, Heartstopper Forever, is set to release on Netflix globally on July 17. We’ve already gotten to see the amazing first look and official runtime, but it turns out that Netflix and creator Alice Osman have even more in store for fans to celebrate the beloved franchise.
Today, an official “Heartstopper Summer” calendar was released, outlining two weeks of massive content drops, premieres, and releases. Since volume 6 of the graphic novel just started on July 2nd, the daily drop is about to begin.
Here’s a full timeline of what to expect over the next few weeks:
- 2 July – Heartstopper Volume 6 Book Released
- 9 to 15 July – Basement Series (Daily Release!)
- 14th July – Heartstopper Forever World Premiere
- 15th July -Vinyl boxset pre-orders open
- 16th July – Basement Series Bloopers
- July 17th – Heartstopper Forever Release Day! (as well as the official podcast release and digital album release)
- 24th July – Heartstopper: Ending on a High Documentary Release (Only on Netflix)
New Documentary Special: Heartstopper: Ending on a High
The biggest surprise from the timeline reveal is a brand new, standalone documentary special coming to Netflix just a week after the final film premieres.
Titled Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi, the special is described as “a love letter to the community that brought it together” and will serve as the final farewell to the Osmanverse adaptation.
Here’s the official synopsis of the documentary:
“Heartstopper: Ending on a Hi is a behind-the-scenes special celebrating the finale of one of Netflix’s most beloved series. Based on unseen archival footage spanning every season to the final film, the special brings together the cast, creator Alice Osman, executive producer Patrick Walters and the fans who made Heartstopper a global phenomenon. Through candid interviews and the voices of fans, it reflects on the show’s creative journey, cultural impact and lasting legacy… Because… Every ending is also a beginning, somewhere, someone is going to say ‘hi’ for the first time.
The documentary is directed by Luke Hyams and executive produced by Sunita Mirchandani Hyams, with Pangea serving as production company.
This is in addition to the podcast mentioned above which consists of five episodes:

A new look at Heartstopper Forever
With a huge drop in schedule, teen Vogue published an exclusive interview Yesterday with producer Alice Osman, fans were treated to a brand new first-look image of Kit Connor and Joe Locke (along with a behind-the-scenes photo of Osman and executive producer Patrick Walters). In the interview, Osman revealed that the film would deviate slightly from the show’s ensemble format to focus more on Nick and Charlie due to limited time. However, Osman assured fans that the supporting characters would not be left behind, saying, “I made sure to say goodbye to everyone in the movie.” Osman also discussed how the characters are growing up as they approach the cusp of adulthood, teasing a beautiful final script note that read: “A lot has changed, and yet here they are. Two best friends playing in the snow.”
