Late last year, we excitedly reported about a long-awaited addition to the Netflix platform: a dedicated “Last Chance to Watch” category. Using category code 82120713, the feature eventually grouped together movies and series scheduled to leave the service in the near future. While we noted at the time that the list wasn’t perfect, it was a great tool for those of us who like to prioritize our watchlist based on what’s dropping next.
Now, less than a year after it was introduced, Netflix has officially discontinued the useful feature, at least in that iteration.
Throughout this month, users started noticing favorite categories disappearing from the platform. We received many messages and comments from confused customers. One user summarized the ongoing issue perfectly in a July removal post:
“The Leaving Soon code 82120713 doesn’t seem to be working on Netflix. When I try it I get ‘No matching titles.’ Is there any information if they have removed or changed the category code? Or maybe this is (hopefully) just a temporary glitch?”
Hoping that this was actually just a glitch, we reached out directly to Netflix for clarification. Unfortunately, they confirmed to us that the 82120713 category code has been removed, with another one installed in its place, plus the title removal can be traced.
How to find movies and series leaving Netflix soon
So how can you still track down those titles that are on the chopping block within the app? You have two basic options:
1. Search “Last Chance”
You can directly type “Last Chance” into the Netflix search box. Because “leaving soon” still serves as an active backend tag, this will reveal a selection of titles that are scheduled to leave the library soon.
2. Alternative Category Code (82968030)
There is another active category code you can use: 82968030. Although this link will take you to the “Going Soon” page, it comes with a few warnings. That is, it doesn’t list everything. Plus, instead of displaying a full, easy-to-browse AZ grid of departing titles like the old code, it sorts departing content into horizontal rows like Hollywood Movies, Gems for You, and, really, quite conveniently, anything on your My List. It’s better than nothing, but it definitely lacks the clean AZ layout of the original. As you may know, Netflix has discontinued AZ sorting on its website.

Netflix is constantly making changes to their user interface, adding and removing categories as they experiment with how users discover content. Although it’s disappointing to see this specific category code disappear so soon after its introduction, you won’t be completely left in the dark.
As always, we’ll continue to do the heavy lifting for you. You can find our comprehensive, latest roundup of both the US and the UK, excluding Netflix, right here on What’s on Netflix. We update our departure lists throughout the month, sorted chronologically by removal date, so you never miss a chance to see a title before it’s gone.
