A Quiet Place Part II (2020)

Looking for a weekend adventure? Netflix has you covered with John Krasinski’s nerve-shredding sequel.
Quickly recovering from the devastating events in their home, the Abbott family must now face the terror of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in complete silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that creatures that hunt by sound are not the only dangers lurking beyond the sandy path.
Cillian Murphy makes a brilliant addition to the cast in a sequel that is just as tense and anxiety-inducing as the original. (Fun fact: If you want to make it a Krasinski double-feature, his 2024 family film IF also hits Netflix this week!)
Believe Me: False Prophet (narrow range)

Netflix’s true crime documentary machine never sleeps, and this week brings us a highly anticipated new limited series. Trust Me: The False Prophet dives deep into the heartbreaking story of a charismatic leader who manipulated hundreds of thousands of people before his empire collapsed. Packed full of exclusive interviews and shocking, newly exposed footage, it’s guaranteed to be your next re-watch obsession.

Netflix’s movie output has been very quiet for 2026 (something we documented this week, where we Turns out it’s at an eight-year low), but things will now finally start to pick up pace as Thrash is the latest acquired film to debut on Netflix. The synopsis reads, “When a devastating storm devastates a coastal town, stranded residents must escape fast-moving waters filled with predatory sharks.”
In our review, which, like most others on the net, was fairly lukewarm on the title, our own Andrew Morgan concluded:
Verdict: Lower your expectations if you want to enjoy a shark-infested survival movie like Below Sea Level. Famous actors mean nothing if you don’t give them something to work with, but violent shark attacks may be enough to satisfy bloodthirsty fans of the genre.
