Netflix has released intel and a first look for its slate recently showcased at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Below, we’ll cover all of the major new announcements for some of its feature films and series, in addition to our coverage yesterday on anime and adult animation roundup.

Get ready for a chocolate factory tour with a different kind of experience. Created and starring Taika Waititi as Willy Wonka, this highly anticipated animated spin-off begins in a bittersweet world. Wonka has spent several years behind actual bars for turning a child into a blueberry.

Enter teenage Charlie Pelly (voiced by) heart arresterKit Connor) and his friends, who plot a major robbery at the factory in order to steal a priceless Wonka Bar and save their homes from eviction. Netflix is ​​showing an exclusive first look at the Sony Pictures Imageworks-produced film during Wednesday’s showcase, and it looks very sophisticated and irreverent in nature.

Visionary director Brad Bird (Incredible, iron giant) is finally bringing his 30-year-old passion project to the screen later this year. For the public, we got two new first look snaps.

Made at Skydance Animation, this film has been one of our most anticipated animated projects for some time. During the panel, Bird will provide deeply personal insight into the creation of Ray GunnThe co-founders of Aardman (which notably celebrates its 50th anniversary this year!), in an exclusive conversation moderated by stop-motion legend Peter Lord. We will write more on this later today.

Additionally, we got plenty of concept artwork (including how the main character was designed along with reference images including Chris Pine and WW2 films), and audiences were treated to the first 7 minutes of the film, which begins with a robbery in a visually gorgeous, fleshy futuristic city.

Yesterday, Netflix held a special work-in-progress session at the Salle Pierre Lamy on Tuesday, June 23, to give us an early look at this hilarious reimagining of the classic fairy tale we talked about in depth in our huge roundup yesterday. As a reminder, the film is directed by Alice Tzu and John Ripa, with Jason Figliozzi leading the character animation.

In addition to the now-confirmed release date this November, the film got another short teaser during the main Annecy presentation.

Ghostbusters: Night Shift

who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters is officially back on television! Following the announcement of the title and release year over the weekend, executive producers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, along with showrunners Ben Hibon and Elliot Cullen, gave an in-depth presentation on the new series, offering a world-exclusive preview of the series. We’ll have even more coverage on this later today, but a first look image and concept art have been released to the public:

Ricky Gervais is the guest of honor at this year’s festival, hosting a special masterclass tied to his brand-new adult animated comedy series, street cats. As a reminder, the stacked voice cast includes David Earl as Puke, Diane Morgan as Olive, Joe Hartley as Kitten, Ricky Gervais as Gus, Tom Basden as Ponce, and Andrew Brooks as Fang.

We’ll have a full panel on the show to see in person on June 25, and we’ll bring you our reaction to episode two and more from Gervais whenever we get it. Ahead of this panel, Netflix released a trailer on Monday and a new one today:
