‘Outer Banks’ Season 5 Sets August 2026 Release Date at Netflix; Teaser & First Looks Revealed

The Pogues are bringing it home for the last time. Netflix has officially announced the fifth and final season outer Banks Will premiere globally on August 20, 2026. Along with the release date, we’ve got our first look at the emotional, action-packed final chapter.

In addition to the below, Netflix has confirmed that seasons 1-4 will receive vinyl release.

It’s been a long journey for our favorite treasure hunters. As we reported earlier this year, the final season faced some early production hurdles before it could be fully launched. Just recently, we tracked the crew as filming moved internationally to Croatia as production neared completion — and judging by these brand new first-look images, that European excursion is going to play a big role in the series finale.

If you thought El Dorado or Blackbeard’s quest for gold was this intense, the stakes have never really been higher. Netflix has released a new official synopsis for the final season, and it confirms our worst fears following the events in Morocco:

“The Pogues are at their absolute breaking point in Season 5 following the tragic loss of JJ in Morocco. Stranded far from home and grieving in the hearts of their crew, they have lost the Blue Crown and continue to face familiar dangers. Chandler Groff is still at large, Dalia and the Corsairs are closing in, and the Kooks have made sure the Pogues have no home to return to, John B., Sarah, Kira, Pope and Cleo must rely on their gut instincts – and an uneasy alliance with Rafe – to keep them from being torn apart forever. Their mission now is to reclaim their future and finally win the freedom they’ve been chasing since the beginning, it’s the Pogues against the world as they seek to avenge their best friend and bring him home one last time.

The confirmation of JJ’s death is a huge shock, setting the stage for a dark, vengeance-filled final season. Notably, Rudy Pankow is absent from the official Season 5 cast list. However, an “uneasy alliance” with Drew Starkey’s Rafe Cameron will definitely cause a huge rift in the group’s dynamics as they try to survive.

First Look Images: The Pogues Against the World

Netflix has released an explosive batch of first-look images, giving us a taste of the danger awaiting the crew with snaps from several episodes, including a couple from the eighth episode.

The action is clearly at the forefront, highlighted by a badass shot of Cleo (Carlasia Grant) running away from a giant fiery vehicle explosion.

The international setting we tracked during filming is on full display. We see John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah (Madeline Cline), Pope (Jonathan Davis), Cleo and Rafe wandering the cobblestone streets of Europe, with Cleo checking her phone while looking incredibly distressed.

Another striking image shows the group – including Rafe – locked together in a dingy, stone-walled prison cell, proving that this uneasy alliance may have literally been forced upon them. We also see the crew raising their hands in surrender in a separate outdoor standoff.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom. The classic Pogues spirit comes alive with a sweet shot of John B. and Sarah sharing loving smiles in front of a Twinkie, and we see Pope and Kiara (Madison Bailey) teaming up with flashlights to explore a dark, creepy basement. Kiara is also seen climbing some rusty scaffolding on the side of an old stone building – standard Pog behaviour!

Meanwhile, Rafe Cameron gets a solo shot in a polo shirt, standing in front of a white Mercedes. It remains to be seen whether he is back to his old kooky ways or plotting to help the Pogues.

outer Banks will be included in season 5 10 one hour episodes And, unlike Season 4, it won’t be released in two parts. Series creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke all return as executive producers and writers to close out the story they began in 2020.
