Netflix is ready to flip the script this spring with a high-concept satirical comedy, ladies First. Starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Rosamund Pike, the film promises to be an intense look at gender dynamics through the lens of a parallel universe. Netflix unveiled the project with a first look and trailer just a month before its release.
We’ve been following the project since the beginning, including the initial casting announcement involving the pairing of these two veterans, and most recently, the news of veteran stars like Richard E. Grant and Charles Dance joining the roster.

Netflix has officially confirmed this ladies First Will be released globally on May 22, 2026. What is ladies First About this?
The film is based on the 2018 French Netflix film Je ne suis pas un homme facile (I’m not an easy man), which was written and directed by Eléonore Pouriat.
The logline for Reimagining the English Language is as follows:
“A ladies’ man finds his life turned upside down when he wakes up in a parallel world dominated by women. With the rules of engagement changed, he comes face to face with a fiery female co-worker in a playful satire of what happens when the script is flipped.”
Sacha Baron Cohen plays Damian Sachs, a man who has it all – money, power and a never-ending stream of casual fun. As he prepares to take on the role of CEO at a major advertising agency, his life is turned upside down when he awakens in his worst nightmare: a parallel world dominated by women. Where he once ruled the boardroom, he now finds himself humbled and competing with the newly fierce and fearless Alex Fox (played by Rosamund Pike).
