Wednesday Officially going global! While Nevermore Academy (Ireland, that is) has been the primary stomping ground for everyone’s favorite Gothic teens for the most part, Season 3 is taking things straight to the City of Light.
As we can now confirm, in addition to local reporting from France, production on the highly anticipated third season has set up shop in Paris for a short time this week. Filming began in the French capital on April 18 and is expected to wrap up on-location shooting today, April 20.
If the idea of Wednesday Addams mocking the Eiffel Tower isn’t enough to get you excited, we’ve got something even better. What’s On Netflix has managed to get some exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Paris!
Snap Show series star Jenna Ortega is back in her iconic black-and-white threads (with bangs!), sharing the screen with none other than Fred Armisen, confirming that Uncle Fester will be bringing his chaotic, electrifying energy to Europe. Overseeing the madness is executive producer and visionary director Tim Burton, who was seen directing the pair through a high-stakes (and predictably scary) sequence on the cobblestone streets next to the Seine River in central Paris. We also get a glimpse of the famous motorcycle with sidepods.

based on clapper board spottedTim Burton is in the director’s chair for this sequence, in collaboration with acclaimed cinematographer PJ Dillon. The slate indicates they are shooting scene V103 – presumably a visual-effects-heavy sequence for the third episode – filmed at standard cinematic 23.976 frames per second using the “B” camera on roll 501.
The Paris shoot is the latest exciting development for a season that’s already shaping up to be Netflix’s biggest TV event of the year. If you missed our ongoing coverage, here’s a quick refresher on the current situation Wednesday Season 3:
Everything else we know about Wednesday season 3
As we reported earlier this year, Nevermore is attracting a huge influx of Hollywood talent. In what may be the most pitch-perfect casting of the decade, Burton cast Winona Ryder (stranger things, Beetle Juice) has officially joined the cast of Season 3! Ryder’s arrival comes with a minor change in casting, as it was confirmed that Noah B. Taylor has left the series.
Ryder isn’t the only heavyweight to join the Adams universe. game of Thrones Alumnus Lena Headey, with ’80s icon Andrew McCarthy and ted lasso’s James Lance has also been cast in undisclosed, but reportedly integral roles.
If casting news wasn’t enough to keep fans busy, Netflix recently released a mysterious casting video full of hidden characters that sent the Internet into full spy mode. While we’re busy trying to figure out what the letters mean, popular fan theories suggest they’re revealing a hidden family secret, a new outcast society operating in Europe, or perhaps the name of Wednesday’s new big bad victim.
With production actively underway across Europe at the moment, the biggest question on everyone’s mind is: when can we actually see it? As we broke down in our extensive Season 3 preview, the sheer scale of this season — complete with international shoots like this week’s trip to Paris — means a lengthy post-production process. Although Netflix hasn’t confirmed an exact date, we’re fully expecting a return in mid-2027.
For now, we’ll just have to enjoy the sight of Wednesday and Uncle Fester scaring the locals in France.
