The cards have been dealt, and the cameras are officially rolling on the second season of BET’s live-action adaptation of the hit Japanese anime and manga series Kakegurui.
Following its renewal last summer, the high-stakes teen thriller has returned to Toronto, Ontario to film its highly anticipated next installment. According to the production listing, filming for a 10-episode second season has begun 3 June 2026and is scheduled to run until the summer, concluding 13 August 2026.
Showrunner Simon Barry is back for Boat Rocker Media, and he confirmed on Instagram on June 9 that production is officially moving forward, posting: “Game on. ♣️♦️♠️♥️ #betnetflix”.
Series star Miku Martino, who plays mysterious and gambling-loving transfer student Yumeko, also shared the excitement on her Instagram:

The cast is clearly thrilled to be back in Canada. another cast member BET Season 2, co-star Miku Martino posted a fun video gushing about it and celebrating a number of Canadian staples, from Tim Hortons’ Honey Crullers to the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Tempo basketball team:
“Shout out to Tim Horton’s Ice Cap. Shout out to Tim Horton’s Timbits. Especially Honey Crueller too… Shout out to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Shout out to Tempo… Shout out to my Canadian classmates from BET. Shout out to my Canadian classmates from Crew Girl. Shout out to all Canadian creators.”
Pre-production has been underway for the past few weeks, with season 2 on the table for May 15, per ayo solanke. Earlier, in early April, we saw Simon Barrie post that he had started packing for his trip to Toronto to film season 2.
Who is returning for BET Season 2?
From our understanding of the cast so far, an extensive cast will be returning for the 30-minute episodes. You can expect to see Miku Martino together again:

Where is BET Season 2 filming?
As production begins, locals can spot the crew around Toronto. To bring to life the specific, underground gambling-driven boarding school in Season 1, the show used several real-world educational and historical locations in the area.
If Season 2 follows suit, expect them to return to beautiful local architecture. Filming locations for Season 1 included:

- Wycliffe College (5 Hoskin Avenue, Toronto)
