Netflix is officially doubling down on applied science this summer. YouTube superstar and former NASA engineer Mark Roberts is bringing another series to the streaming platform: Camp CrunchLabs.
The new addition marks the continued expansion of the fascinating partnership between Netflix and Robert, whose mix of high-energy engineering, kid-friendly edutainment and massive viral stunts has proven a big hit for the platform’s family-friendly catalog. The collaboration was first unveiled in August 2025.
They are expected to follow the format of their previous Netflix releases, Camp CrunchLabs Will likely feature repackaged and curated episodes taken directly from their highly popular YouTube channel.
The new series is rated TV-PG, and Netflix has provided the following official synopsis, with the first batch debuting on Netflix tomorrow (June 8):
“Have fun this summer at Camp CrunchLabs, where Mark Roberts is presenting hands-on science experiments with special guests and super challenges at home!”
Mark Robert’s growing Netflix empire
Camp CrunchLabs This is the latest piece of a very big puzzle for Robert on Netflix. Over the past year, the streamer has steadily built up a dedicated Mark Roberts library under the kids, science, nature genre.
His flagship anthology series, Mark Robert CrunchLabs, currently boasts four seasons on the platform. The rollout has been incredibly fast: Season 1 premiered on November 19, 2025, followed by Season 2 on January 1, 2026, Season 3 on March 16, 2026, and most recently, Season 4, which just arrived on May 26, 2026.
The numbers are great for the series, although due to its release rhythm, we don’t have concrete recent numbers. We know it’s been in the global top 10 for a few weeks, and according to the engagement reports we have, Season 1 has seen 25.1M hours, which equates to 11.9M hours in almost a month of availability.

In addition to his YouTube compilations and a high-profile collaboration with Sesame Street, Robert is also prepping for a brand new, original reality series on Netflix titled school education!. Join their CrunchLabs Academy, Schooling! Represents a more traditional unscripted television approach than their anthology series. There’s no release date for that, although casting began in March, so we can probably expect news later this year.
Bridging the YouTube-to-Streaming Gap
Robert’s growing presence on Netflix highlights a key strategy underway for the streamer: capturing the elusive tween and teen demographic by bridging the gap between traditional television and creator-led Internet content.
Netflix has recently rolled out an expansive slate of tween and teen-friendly titles, mixing heartfelt coming-of-age stories with breakout global favorites and internet personalities. Camp CrunchLabs Will sit comfortably with recent reality and producer-driven hits like Salish and Jordan case.
