Defy gravity again! Jon M. Chu’s epic musical fantasy sequel is making its highly anticipated (partial) SVOD debut on Netflix this week after its initial stint on Peacock. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return to their iconic roles as Elphaba and Glinda. Now demonized throughout the country as the Wicked Witch of the West, the exiled Elphaba must finally reunite with her beloved former friend to confront their intertwined pasts and change the future of Oz forever. If you missed this cinematic spectacle in theaters, you now have the chance to play the soundtrack from your living room, but sadly you’ll have to look elsewhere for the first film.

Who says you can’t have a little Christmas cheer in the middle of summer? This bloody, action-packed holiday comedy stars David Harbor (stranger things) as a cynical, tired Santa Claus who just wants to complete his deliveries. But when he collapses the chimney of a massive estate on Christmas Eve and finds a wealthy family being held hostage by heavily armed mercenaries, St. Nick has to dust off his brutal fighting skills to save the day. It’s hilarious, surprisingly heartwarming, and packed with wildly inventive action sequences.

Coming to Netflix: Friday
If you need a big laugh this weekend, look no further than this brand new original comedy film directed by Tim Story. Kevin Hart plays a forty-something executive who accidentally joins the wrong group text. Hoping to breathe some life into his career and recapture his youth, he unknowingly joins a group of anarchic twenty-somethings (led by snl Breakout Marcelo Hernandez) on a wild, three-day bachelor party. Grab some popcorn, because things are guaranteed to go horribly, ridiculously wrong.
