If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the next chapter of AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal universe coming to Netflix, we have some great news for you. Talamasca: Secret Order Its US release date has finally been secured and all six episodes are set to drop on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
Over the years, the AMC and Netflix licensing partnership has proven largely beneficial for both networks. We’ve seen major titles like Immortal Universe Interview with the Vampire And mayfair witches Find huge second lives and top the charts on the streaming service. Now, it’s time for the third installment of the universe to see if it can capture the same streaming magic.
What is Talamasca: Secret Order About this?
Created by John Lee Hancock, Talamasca: Secret Order moves away from the heavy Gothic psychodrama of its predecessors and instead offers a brilliant supernatural espionage thriller. The six-part first season originally premiered on AMC in October 2025.
The show follows Guy Anatole (played by Nicholas Denton), a troubled loner who becomes entangled in the covert operations of Talamasca – a secret global agency responsible for investigating, tracking, and maintaining a delicate balance with vampires, witches, and other immortal beings.
Along with Denton, the series features a stellar cast including William Fichtner, Elizabeth McGovern, Celine Buckens, and Maisie Richardson-Sellers.
Moving forward with international rollout
If you’re outside the United States, you may have already had a chance to enjoy this series. As we previously covered, the international rollout for Talamasca has been underway for a while, hitting select Netflix regions early on.
So, how did the series actually perform across the pond? according to Data from our friends at FlixPatrolThe show performed well in the daily top 10 worldwide. The supernatural thriller performed exceptionally well in Europe and select territories, spending a full two weeks (14 days) in the top 10 in countries such as France and Sweden, where it reached the #2 position. It even managed to snatch the coveted #1 spot in regions like Martinique, New Caledonia, and Reunion!
In the UK, it enjoyed a highly respectable 12-day performance in the top 10 (also peaking at #2), while recording consistent numbers throughout Latin America and Asia, averaging almost a week in the charts in major markets such as Brazil, Mexico and the Philippines.
Now, Netflix US is getting in on the action. The series will be officially screened for the first time at the state level 23 AugustOur already packed preview of what’s coming to Netflix in August 2026 adds some heavy-handed supernatural espionage. The big question is: Can it repeat or exceed its international numbers in the highly competitive US market?
Can the “Netflix Effect” Save? secret order?
This release comes with a bit of a warning. As many Anne Rice fans will know, AMC canceled Talamasca: Secret Order In March 2026 after just one season.
However, if there’s one thing we know about Netflix, it’s that the “Netflix effect” is very real. We’ve seen licensed shows come to the platform, completely dominate the top 10 charts, and later get revived or renewed by their original networks (or by Netflix). Although there’s no guarantee, a massive, super-heavy showdown on Netflix US this August could actually be Guy Anatole and Talamasca’s lifeline.
So, if you’re hoping for Season 2, you know what to expect come August 23, though keep your expectations low. We haven’t seen a major revival in Netflix in many years and the international top 10 doesn’t give us much hope.
