Continuing the highly productive licensing relationship between Netflix and NBCUniversal, the Syfy horror-noir series revival is set to make its streaming debut on Netflix in the United States in late August 2026.
As we’ve covered extensively over the past few years, Netflix has been aggressively dipping into the libraries of rival networks to bolster its domestic lineup. We’ve seen incredible success with NBCUniversal titles, especially with USA Network Suit and syfy’s resident alienBoth of which enjoyed massive resurgences in viewership thanks to the highly anticipated “Netflix Bump.”
Next up is Revival, a rural supernatural mystery whose first season originally aired on Syfy in the summer of 2025.
For those unfamiliar, the show is based on Aaron B. Koontz and Luke Boyce [1] and serves as a faithful adaptation of the hit Image Comics series of the same name by writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Norton.
Headlined by Wynonna Earp fan-favorite Melanie Scrofano, the series also stars Romy Weltman, David James Elliot (JAG), and Andy McQueen (Outer Banks).
is here official logline What you can expect if you plan to dive:
“On a miraculous day in rural Wisconsin, the recently deceased suddenly come to life. But these are not corpses, as the ‘resurrected’ appear and behave just as they did before. As the mystery of this incident stirs up unrest, Dana Cypress, a down-on-his-luck police officer and single mother, is thrown into a unique murder investigation – where the murder victim is now alive, and everyone else, whether alive or Revived, there is a suspect.”
When is the revival coming to Netflix?
We’ve learned that all episodes of the first season will be available on Netflix US Monday, August 24, 2026.
It’s worth noting that, at the moment, this licensing deal appears to be solely for the United States. International rights to Syfy shows can be incredibly fragmented (for example, in Canada, the show originally aired on the CTV Sci-Fi channel and streams on Crave), so if you live in the UK, Australia, or elsewhere, you won’t see it pop up on August 24.
Could the “Netflix Bump” Lead to Season 2?
Another interesting aspect of this pickup is the current state of the show. Since the season 1 finale, which aired in late July 2025, Syfy has gone completely silent except for the second season Many fans are scared It was quietly canceled amid the network’s broader shift away from scripted programming.
We’ve seen Netflix effectively save viewership on a massive scale in the past. If Revival could bring in some serious numbers and dominate Netflix’s top 10 this August, could it inspire a renewal or lead Netflix to take over the show themselves? This is a far cry, but even crazier things have happened.
