He is also the executive producer of the series.

Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment is reportedly producing the series, with Spielberg listed as producer alongside Michelle and Barack Obama through his Higher Ground Productions.

“Titus Crown is the first black sheriff in the history of Charon County, Virginia. In recent decades, quiet Charon has committed only two murders. But after working for years as an FBI agent, Titus knows better than anyone that even though his hometown may seem like the land of moonlight, cornbread and honeysuckle, secrets always lurk beneath the surface. Then a year after Titus’s election, a school teacher is killed by a former student. The student is fatally shot. As Titus investigates the shooting, he discovers horrific crimes and a serial killer hiding in plain sight, roaming the dirt streets and forests of Charon.
Due to the murderer’s possible connection to the local church and the town’s sinister history, Titus expresses confidence in closing the case while harboring a painful secret from his past.
