It’s time to break out the razzle! Overnight, two brand new sets of filming from upcoming Netflix movies were revealed 13 going on 30 The project, in Los Angeles, brought a big surprise: original stars Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer are back.
As we’ve been keeping a close eye on since we first revealed that Netflix was developing a 13 going on 30 Movie Reboot, the streamer is producing a new take on the beloved 2004 romantic comedy. So far, the project has been firmly presented as a “reboot”. But with originals Jenna Rink and Lucy Wyman officially spotted on set, fans are already asking the big question: is this really a continuation, sequel, or just a reboot with some incredible Legacy cameos?
Here are the latest set photos, casting updates, and production details.
Malibu Weddings and Santa Monica Reunions
Over the past 24 hours, paparazzi have captured two separate batches of set photos that give us our best look at the production so far.
In the first set of photos, the cast can be seen filming on Zuma Beach in Malibu, in what appears to be a wedding or celebration-type setting on the beach.
The second batch of photos brought the Internet to a standstill. Jennifer Garner and Judy Greer were spotted filming scenes with the reboot’s new leading lady Emily Bader in Santa Monica, California. We already knew that Garner was attached to the project behind the camera as an executive producer, but there was no confirmation previously that she would step in front of the lens.
It’s currently unclear whether Garner and Greer will be reprising their iconic roles as Jenna and Lucy, playing old mentors, or taking on entirely new characters as a fun nod to the original film. Can Jenna Rink pass the love of magic on to a new generation? For now, we will have to wait and see.
Taylor Zakhar Perez and more join the Stacked cast
The set photos aren’t the only major news coming this week. This has just been revealed red, white and royal blue Star Taylor Zakhar Perez has officially boarded the film.
He joins a seriously impressive group. As we previously reported in June with filming beginning in Los Angeles and new character details, the film will officially star Emily Bader (People we meet on holidays) and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson, bullet train) in the lead roles, with Jessica Alba (trigger warning) and Adeline Rudolph (Sabrina’s hair-raising act) in the supporting cast.

Production status: everything else we know
The cameras have officially been on for a month. As we reported when filming first began and we’ve rounded up everything we know so far, production has begun 23 June 2026And it’s about to end in a few weeks 10 August 2026Filming exclusively in Los Angeles and the LA Thirty Mile Zone.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the production had secured a massive $10.9 million tax credit from the state of California, putting the film’s estimated budget in the $30M to $50M range. Netflix is producing the film in association with RK Films and Revolution Studios.
